Connections and networking are a vital part of the music industry. I was lucky enough to meet with composer and musician Clare Manchon via Zoom to discuss the ins and outs of both composing and the industry at large. Clare has written underscore for film, documentary, and television such as Emily In Paris. Her perspective was valuable and helped me realize the significance of collaboration and developing relationships within the music world. She was even able to connect me with a friend of hers, Alejandro “Alex” Venguer, a recording and mixing engineer who has worked on film scores and songs for Barbie and Joker, and we are currently making plans to meet and gain further studio experience.
