I was lucky enough to be able to gain some hands-on experience with Kevin Fogarty. Kevin is an award-recognized songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose musicals have been developed and produced across the country. I was introduced to Kevin by my dad, who has worked with him in many productions in the past. I had the opportunity to visit Kevin’s home studio, understand the differences between a home studio setup compared to a professional studio, and even use the equipment myself to record some piano tracks that his wife played. This was such a helpful experience for me to understand how this setup works and how it can be used professionally. I learned so much about the digital audio workspace (DAW) he used and how to edit tracks.
